To be dependent on the valid rules a steam boiler must be provided with one or several directly and/or indirectly level gauges.

In a directly level gauge the water level is directly shown through a glass or mica shield.

The operating stuff is able to separate clearly the water and steam zone with use of a transparency level gauge with background illumination.

Bicolour level gauges (black/white or green/red) are perfectly suitable for use of a camera system of cause the special construction and intensive illumination.

Indirectly level gauges transfer the water level by using of a float operated magnetic system to an indication ledge mounted outside of the pipe.
